Harry was born on May 3, 1925 in Grant, Oklahoma to Leonard and Ada (Dill) Mayo. On September 16, 1950, Harry married Helen Nation in De Queen, Arkansas. They were happily married for sixty-one years. He worked for fifteen years as a high line construction worker. Harry was then employed by the City of Hugo as a fireman for twenty years and on the Hugo Street Department for five years, and spent over ten years as a self-employed small engine repairman. He was of the Baptist faith. Harry was an avid fisherman, hunter, gardener, and loved to play dominos. He had a dry sense of humor and was famous for his one liners. Survivors include his wife, Helen, of the home, his daughter and son-in-law, Jacque and Jim Haskett of Eufaula and his grandchildren, Jayson Haskett and Jayna and Brad McGuire; two great grandchildren, Cierra and Brailee McGuire. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ralph and Victor Mayo and three sisters, Cletes Gilbert, Ruby Mayo and Ona Mauldin.
