Harriette Tiger

February 10, 1925 — June 15, 2011

Harriette Tiger, 86, of Eufaula passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at her home. Harriette was born on February 10, 1925 in Eufaula, the daughter of Bennie Buckskin and Susie Ann Scott Casar. On January 7, 1942, Harriette married Yahola Tiger, Sr. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1987. She received her GED in 1977 at the age of 52. Harriette was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of the West Eufaula Indian Baptist Church where she also worked as secretary/clerk. Harriette was a messenger at the MSW Association, working on the Memorial Committee. She was one of the original five co-founders of the Eufaula Indian Community. Survivors include: her sons, Yahola Tiger, Jr., Benjamin A. Tiger, George S. Tiger, Jonathan Mark Tiger, and C. Mitchell Tiger; a grandson, Norman Tiger; her daughters, Anna Louise Carson of Henryetta, Mary Nell Kaulay of Checotah, Mariena Eslick of Eufaula, Serena Brown of Indianola, Judith Pickering of Eufaula, Benita Tiger of Eufaula and Jeraldean Tiger also of Eufaula; a special friend, Margie Charles; her sister, Samarian Herndon of Shawnee; thirty-one grandchildren, thirty-nine great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
