Harold Wayne Lasiter, 90, of Eufaula, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022, at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Harold was born on February 20, 1932, the son of John William and Cora Elizabeth (King) Lasiter. He graduated from Butner High School in 1950 and attended Murray State College, where he played baseball, basketball, and football wearing a leather helmet and pads, graduating in 1952. Harold graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1954. He enlisted in the United States Army Reserves and retired after twenty-seven (27) years of service as a Lieutenant Colonel and Commandant of the Drill Sergeants Academy. Harold received his master’s degree from East Central University, then went on to receive his school administrator’s certificate from the University of Oklahoma. On January 15, 1955, Harold married Joyce "LaDean" Morgan in Cromwell, Oklahoma. They were happily married for sixty-seven (67) years. He spent forty-two (42) years in education. Harold taught, coached, and served as administrator for several schools including Cromwell, New Lima, St. Louis, and Konawa, Oklahoma. He retired from Stuart Public Schools as Superintendent in 1996 after twenty-two (22) years, the high school gymnasium was also named in his honor. Harold rooted for OSU and OU, but was a loyal OSU fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, coaching, and watching his grandkids compete. He was an excellent carpenter and enjoyed woodworking. Survivors include: his wife, LaDean, of the home; daughter, Lesa King and husband Mitch of Eufaula; son, Scott Lasiter and wife Tonya of Eufaula; grandchildren, Audra Deckard and husband Blake, Dylan Helms and wife Sheradon, Faith Crawford and husband Wil, Hope Lasiter, Gracie-Jane Lasiter; great grandchildren, Steely Deckard, Sutton Helms, and Baby Crawford on the way. He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Mark Wayne Lasiter, and two brothers, Bob and Doyle Lasiter
