Harold Lloyd Burris

Harold Lloyd Burris, 85, of Eufaula, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014, at the Epic Medical Center. Harold was born on February 29, 1928, in Featherston, Oklahoma, the son of John Roosevelt and Bernice Rae (Carney) Burris. He graduated from the Chilocco Indian School, in Chilocco, Oklahoma in 1948. On January 12, 1952, Harold married Bobby Jane Beamer in Van Buren, Arkansas. He worked at the Chilocco Indian School, the Eufaula Dormitory and retired as a dorm manager at the Sequoyah Indian School. Survivors include: his sons, Harlan "Guy" Burris of Claremore, Gary Lee Burris of Tahlequah, John Burris and wife Elnora of Mustang and Gerald Francis Burris of the home; his brothers, T.J. Burris of Grants Pass, Oregon, Joe Burris of Muskogee, James "Blue" Burris and wife Jeanne of Grants Pass, Oregon, Bob Burris of Haskell and a brother-in-law, Jerry Holt of Rolette, Texas; his sisters, Melba Vaughn of Searcy, Arkansas and Helen Willis of Temple, Texas; nineteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Harold is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Bobby on December 16, 2013, his son, Harold Gene Burris, his sisters, Christine and Shirley and a brother, Everett "Kirk" Burris.
