Hans Albert Jensen, 99, of Stigler, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at the OSU Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Hans was born on May 12, 1924 in Denmark to Jens Jensen and Marie (Larsen) Jensen. Hans lived in Denmark with his wife Agnette and son from birth until 1959 when they migrated to Los Angeles, California. He worked as a blacksmith alongside his father as an apprentice. Hans attended technical school in Denmark, learning metal works. He also worked alongside a Mastersmith to obtain his Mastersmith certification. On March 23, 1986, Hans married Maria Contreras in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were married for thirty-eight years. In 1991, they moved to Tensed, Idaho. On February 7, 2006, he obtained his American citizenship. Hans and Maria moved to Stigler, Oklahoma in 2013. Hans was a self-employed carpenter, working mostly in Beverly Hills and LA. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to paint. Hans would harvest his own trees to build furniture for his home and family. He built his own barn in the mountains of Idaho with the help of the forest, a sawmill, and his wife. They built onto their home in Idaho, adding a garage and second story, among other projects. His love for Idaho grew as he made close friends in their small mountain community. Their home in Idaho was their sanctuary. He loved hamburgers and sweets. Hans also loved and respected nature.

Survivors include: his wife, Maria Contreras Jensen; sons: Per Jensen and Socrates Gonzalez and wife Shannon; daughter, Sylvia Walker and husband Michael; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and five sisters.
