Grover L. Burns, 76, of Eufaula, passed away December 31, 2014, at his home. Grover was born on August 7, 1938, in Checotah, Oklahoma the son of Odie Lee and Opal Urquhart Burns. He attended Mellette Schools. On February 26, 1966, Grover married Sharon Kay Smith in Eufaula. He worked in construction on pipelines and was a member of the IUOE627 Union for thirty years. Grover was a member of the Church of God. Survivors include: his wife, Kay, of the home; his son, Grover Lee Burns, Jr. and wife Sabrina; daughters: Shannon Burns and husband Chris Gawf and Janet Butler and husband Jim; his brothers, Wendell Burns and wife Janeane and Mike Burns and wife Tammie; sisters, Wanda Montgomery and husband Howard, Beatrice McCoy and Lavonda Pence and husband Tom; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Odie and Opal Burns, and grandson, James Burns. A graveside service was held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the Mellette Cemetery with Rev.
