Gilbert Royce Rupp

Gilbert Royce Rupp, 84, of Porum passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011 at the Rolling Hills Hospital in Ada. Gilbert was born on August 31, 1926 in Eakly, Oklahoma the son of Charles Monroe and Dolly (Bishop) Rupp. He joined the U.S. Army in 1946 in Kern County, California. He was honorably discharged in 1947 in San Francisco, California. On November 22, 1946, Gilbert married Ona Evelyne Young in Fort Lewis, Washington. She preceded him in death on May 26, 2005. Survivors include: his daughters, Linda Papp and Victoria Van Ness; his brother, Paul Rupp; his sister, Doris Brewer; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Ona. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. at the Eakly Cemetery with Donald Orr officiating. Pallbearers will be Robert Meier, Donald Orr, Ryan Beam, Michael Beam, Keith Van Ness and Brian Papp.
