George E. Burkham

George Eugene Burkham, 82, of Eufaula, passed away Friday, December 16, 2011 at his home. George was born on April 18, 1929, in Talco, Texas. On November 1, 1950, George married Geneva Camp in Carlsbad, New Mexico. George worked as a miner, farmer and a rancher. In 1995, George and Geneva moved to Checotah and then to Longtown. Survivors include: his wife, Geneva, of the home; his sons, Ronald Burkham and wife Marsha of Texas and Roy Burkham and wife Sam of New Mexico; his daughter, Sherri Cravens of Eufaula; his brother, Dural Burkham and wife Joy of California; his sisters, Louise Bryant and husband Lloyd of New Mexico, Fern Lawson of New Mexico and Geneva Walker also of New Mexico. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren. George is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, L.C., Ennis and W.J. Burkham and his sister, Dakotah.
