Gene Riley Stapp

Gene Riley Stapp, 80, of Indianola, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023, at his home. Gene was born on December 14, 1942, in Claremore, Oklahoma, the son of Gene Deb and Nancy Marie Fish Stapp. He was raised in Dustin and Lamar. Gene left school during the 8th grade to work the pipeline to help support the family. He became a member of the Local Pipeline Union #627 in the late 1960's. Gene lived in Crowder and Indianola as an adult. From 2015-2017, Gene was on the board of the Indianola Senior Citizens Center.

Survivors include: his son, Clinton Gene Stapp; daughter, Jeana Lee Carson and Billie Jane Stapp; brothers, Bobbie Stapp and wife Fran and Pete Stapp; sisters, Sharon Stapp, Anita Counts and husband Emmitt and Rita Smith and husband Brent; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Joann Stapp, Lavern Counts Carol Stapp, Louise Buck, and Brenda Howell; brothers, Danny Stapp and Ronnie Stapp; and a nephew Art Stapp.
