Gayle Lee Been

Gayle Lee Been, 77, of Indianola, passed away on October 13, 2020 at her home. Gayle was born on September 27, 1943 in Yale, Oklahoma to William Oliver Mize and Pansy Olive Guffey. She attended high school in Yale, Oklahoma. Gayle attended Langston University and then received her Master's Degree from University of Central Oklahoma. She taught at Indianola Public Schools for thirty years. Gayle enjoyed gardening, playing solitaire, bargain shopping, and reading. She was a member of the Indianola First Baptist Church. Survivors include: her sons: Scotty Been and Tony Been, both of Indianola; daughter, Sandy Stewart, of OKC; grandchildren: Toni Been, Corina Been, Abby Been, Rocky Been, Jerry Doolin, Trisha Doss, and David Conner; two great grandchildren: Chloe Doss and Parker Doolin; sister, Nancy Graham, of Eufaula, and nieces Janey Romine and Dyane Holybee both of Eufaula. She is preceded in death by her father, William Mize; mother, Pansy Smith; and one nephew, Jason Graham.
