Gail P. Burletson

Gail Paulette Burletson, 73 of Checotah, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017 in Tulsa surrounded by her family. She was born March 31, 1944 to Karl and Laina Hauswirth in Hancock, Michigan.  Gail resided in Michigan much of the early part of her life until she moved to to Oklahoma with her family in the early 1970"s. She was a self employed businesswoman for over 25 years. For the last ten years of her life she worked in the home health industry where she was adored by her clients. Gail loved life. She enjoyed simple things like gardening, watching hummingbirds, and sitting on her porch drinking coffee. Gail loved to be in the water. She was a life guard in her younger years and always made it a point to teach her children and grandchildren how to swim. Her favorite things to do in her home were watching movies with her husband, writing in her journal, and decorating their home. Gail was especially gifted at decorating. She was a talented and determined woman who could do anything she set her mind to. She is preceded in death by her parents, late husband George C. Boyd, and brothers Craig Hauswirth and Steve Hauswirth. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Gerry Burletson of the home; daughters Tammy McCullar of Eufaula; Wendy Smith and husband Gary of Porum; son Earl Wiggins and wife Shelly of Enterprise; stepsons Clint Boyd and wife Laurie of Phoenix, Arizona, and Billy Boyd of Phoenix, Arizona; sisters, Gloria Clish-Coplen and Ginger Jones; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren, and a host of friends and loved ones
