Forrest Wayne Nicholson

Forrest Wayne Nicholson, 73, passed away Thursday, July 7th, 2022, in Muskogee, OK. Wayne was born on March 22nd, 1949, to Alva and Allene Nicholson in Bakersfield, CA. He was raised in West Tulsa where he attended Webster High School prior to his service in the U.S. Army. Wayne married Robbin Funk on May 24th, 1984, and together they raised their children in Haskell, OK. “Wayno”, as he was known to family and friends, was a talented gear mechanic for over 30 years, known throughout the region for his specialty. After leaving his career in the trucking industry he worked with family before retiring. In his retirement, he cared for his mother until her passing, enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and his love for fishing was only overshadowed by his love for golf.   Wayne is preceded in death by his parents and grandson Alex. He is survived by his wife Robbin Nicholson, daughter Detra Nicholson Hollie of Glenpool, OK; sons Travis Nicholson of Magnolia, TX, Jonathan Wayne Nicholson of Sapulpa, OK, Daniel Schilling of Haskell, OK; daughter Susan Sadler of Bartlesville, OK; brothers Stanley Nicholson and Roger Nicholson; sisters, Brenda Cowett, Marquetta Bennefield and Barbara Shipman; grandchildren William, Andrew, Katelyn, Bethany, Wyatt, Mallory, Tad, Tess, Ty, Evan, Abby, Hannah, Dylan and Jack; great-grandchildren Josie, Colt Wayne, Rykker, Emma, Audrey, Chandler and Raiden; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Memorial service will be held at Haskell First Assembly of God on Saturday, July 16th at 10:00 a.m.
