Floyd Ray Poteet, 70, of Bowie, Texas passed away Friday, April 6, 2018, at his home. Floyd was born on September 19, 1947, in Lindsey, Oklahoma the son of Floyd Egbert and Bonnie (Gilbert) Poteet. He enlisted in the United States Army in November of 1967 in California. He served in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in July, 1970. On June 15, 1973, Floyd married Judy Ann Wilkinson in Duchesne, Utah. She preceded him in death on November 18, 2014. Floyd was an engine and power train repairman while he served in the Army. After the service, he made his career as a Diesel Hydrolic Mechanic. Floyd was a devoted family man who enjoyed get togethers, never met a stranger, and was a connoisseur of food. Survivors include: his daughter, Desiree Drattlo and husband Jeremy of Bowie, Texas; daughters-in-law, Susan Poteet of Nocona, Texas and Kimberly Poteet of Bowie; brothers, James Poteet and wife Linda of Eufaula, Oklahoma and Robert Poteet and wife Karen of Ardmore, Oklahoma; sisters, Leana Ricard and husband Jeff of Lavaca, Arkansas and Kaye Paton and husband Steve of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Judy Ann Wilkinson, his sons, Edward Warren Poteet and Brandon Arthur Poteet and a brother, Claude Poteet.
