Edna Faye Simpson, 89, of Shawnee, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at the Belfair Memory Care Center in Shawnee. Faye was born on September 12, 1930, in Weleetka, Oklahoma, the daughter of James Leo and Lizzie Beth (Reynolds) Tankersley. She graduated, as president of the senior class, from Hanna High School in 1949. On May 30, 1955, Faye married Bud Simpson. They were happily married for sixty-five years. Faye lived in Alaska for fifteen years from 1982-1996. From 1996-2017, Faye lived in Eufaula. In 2017, Faye moved to the nursing home in Shawnee. Faye enjoyed square dancing and tole painting. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tulsa for twenty years. Survivors include: her husband, Bud, of Shawnee; her daughter, Cheryl Henderson of Shawnee; her grandchildren, Brince Henderson and wife Lena of Shawnee, Beth Henderson of Eufaula, Cami Neely and husband Chuck of Eufaula; great grandchildren, Braxton, Katie, Harly, Payden, Tanner, and Allison; and one great great granddaughter, Emalee. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
