Euna Vea Cheek

Euna Vea Cheek of Punta Gorda, FL passed from this life Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Higher Call Nursing Center in Quapaw, OK. She was 83. Euna was born February 8, 1937 in Ada, OK to Fountain and Iva (Reeves) Dickerson. She grew up in Ada, OK and graduated from Ada High School. After moving from Ada she had lived in Wichita, KS, Texas and Eufaula, OK before moving to Punta Gorda, FL. She was a homemaker and was a former member of Eufaula Assembly of God and the Order of the Eastern Star. Euna married A.M. Cheek on October 30, 1953. He preceded her in death on January 6, 1992. She was also preceded in death by a son, Mike Cheek, a grandson, Andy Cheek, her parents and her sister, Mary Mosley Pryor. Euna is survived by 1 son, Charlie Cheek and his wife Katie of Punta Gorda, FL, 2 daughters, Juanita Thatcher and Cindy Wallace of Wichita, KS, daughter-in-law, Georgia Cheek of Texas, 1 brother, Robert Dickerson of California, 12 grandchildren, Seth Cheek, Tony Cheek, Niki Sue Cheek, Stephanie Hays, Robert Thatcher, Tara Payne, Chase Wallace, Randeesa Clawson, Kyle Albert, Jennifer Cheek Foster, Callie Mann and Gunnar Cheek, 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2020 at Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home in Eufaula, OK with Rev. Jeff Willis officiating. Interment will be in Eufaula Cemetery. Tony Cheek, Seth Cheek, Chase Wallace, Robert Thatcher, Gunnar Cheek and Kyle Albert will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Dickerson and Sheila Mosley. The family will receive friends Friday, February 28, 2020 from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home in Eufaula. Services have been placed in the care of Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK.
