Ethel"Hoktey" Louise Melton

Hoktey was born on December 22, 1942 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Alfred P. and Polly (Francis) Frank. She attended and graduated high school at the Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kansas in 1960. Ethel graduated from the Albuquerque School of Nursing as a LPN in 1961. In 1965, she married Larry Junior Melton, who preceded her in death in 1995. She also worked in Indian Hospitals in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Talihina, Oklahoma. In 1973, Ethel moved to Claremore and started working at the Indian Hospital there. She worked there for twenty-two years, before retiring in 1995.     Survivors include: one son, Richard Melton, of Claremore, OK; one daughter, Tina Melton, of Tulsa, OK; four brothers, Sam Marshall, Jr.; John Marshall; George Marshall, all three of Eufaula; and Dewayne Marshall and wife, Tammy of Welling, OK; two sisters, Leah Marshall, of Eufaula, OK; May Marshall, of Claremore, OK; one uncle, Cornelius McIntosh, of Oklahoma City, OK; and two grandchildren, Jordan Melton; and Emily Jungwirth. She is preceded in death by her parents,  Alfred and Polly Frank; one brother, Guymon; and three sisters, Lucille, Elouise, and Polly Ann.
