Esley L Roberts

Esley Lavan Roberts, 83, of Eufaula, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at the Eufaula Manor Nursing Home. Esley was born on January 11, 1922, in Binger, Oklahoma the son of Bert David and Nora Arzora (Sellers) Roberts. He attended grade school in Lookeba, Oklahoma and later attended Bakersfield High School in Bakersfield, California. Esley was drafted in the United States Army and served during the Korean War. On December 3, 1954, Esley married Edith Mae Gilliland in Stevenson, Washington. They were happily married for over sixty years. Survivors include: his wife, Edith, of the home; his sons, Gregory S. Roberts and wife Karen of Eufaula and Bert D. Roberts II of Norman; his daughters, Lila F. Stevenson of Bakersfield, CA and Wanda D. Neely of Wilsonville, OR; one brother, Albert Roberts of TN; twelve grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Nancy Jo Roberts, three brothers, J.B., Edsol, Lonnie and one sister Marie Melugin.
