Ellen Ruth Pepiakitah

Ellen Ruth Pepiakitah, 74, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023, in Jones, OK. Ellen was born on August 14, 1948, to Rufus Leechar and Janie (Deere) Charles. She graduated from Eufaula High School in 1967. She married Tony Allen Pepiakitah Sr. in 1971. Ellen was a homemaker who took care of all her children. She loved to walk, go to garage sales and sing Creek hymns. She was a member of the Native Praise Singing Group. Ellen was also a member of the First Indian Church of Shawnee and the West Eufaula Indian Baptist Church.

Survivors include: her son, Tony Pepiakitah, Jr.; daughters, Sabrina Pepiakitah and Stacey Pepiakitah; brother, James Charles and wife Ruthie; sisters, Margie Charles and Jackie Sanders; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter Andrea Gaither and a son Russell Pepiakitah.
