Elizabeth Irene Burton

Elizabeth Irene Burton, 67, of Vernon, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024, in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Elizabeth was born on August 28, 1956, in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of Willis Eugene Smith and Jo Ann (Cech) Eubanks. She attended high school in Dangerfield, Texas. On June 9, 2001, Elizabeth married Melvin Burton. They were happily married for twenty-two years. Elizabeth enjoyed gardening and being around her animals. She especially loved being with her family. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include: her husband, Melvin Burton, of the home; mother, Jo Ann Eubanks of Diana, TX; sons, Donald Black, Jr. of White Oak, TX, Michael Eckfeldt of Lexington, OK, Anthony Alexander and wife Kizzy of Tulsa, OK, Christopher Alexander and wife Nikita of Sapulpa, OK, Allen Alexander of Tulsa, OK, Nathan Luckey of Vernon, OK, Bobby Younger, JR. and fiancé Jamilea of Tulsa, OK; stepson, Kelvin Burton of OKC, OK; daughters, Joanna Michele Corley of Diana, TX, Alicia Dozier of Tulsa, OK and Felecia Alexander of Tulsa, OK; brothers Larry Smith of Ore City, TX and Randy Smith of Diana, TX; sisters Mona Smith of Callaway Maryland, Connie Shipp of Timpson, TX, and Bobbie Jo Baird and husband Shawn of Linden, TX; thirty-eight grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Willis Eugene Smith and a grandson Cody Eugene Gray.
