Ray was born on December 25, 1922 in Sulphur, Oklahoma to Ed and Mamie (Crider) Flowers. He graduated from Sulphur High School and Central State College. Ray received his Master"s Degree from the University of Oklahoma. On December 21, 1946, he married Nettie Lorene Allen, who preceded him in death on September 20, 2013. They were happily married for over sixty-seven years. Ray served in the United States Air Force during WWII. He worked as the chief of budget at Tinker Air Force Base. Survivors include: one son, Eddie Flowers and wife, Diana, of OKC, OK; three grandchildren: Chris Flowers, of OKC, OK; Carley Flowers, of Rogers, AR; and Erin Flowers, of OKC, OK; and four great grandchildren: Ashley, Christian, Haley, and Kiley. He is preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Nettie Lorene Flowers.
