Edwin Joel Smith

May 29, 1944 — August 6, 2016

Edwin was born on May 29, 1944, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma the son of James Albert and Hettie Leona (Lindsey) Smith. He graduated from Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City. He was the Mayor of Jones, Oklahoma in the early 80"s. Edwin worked as a project manager for several construction companies all over the United States including Hawaii and North Carolina. He married Anita Joan Simpson. They were together for thirty years. In January 1994, Edwin and Anita moved to Eufaula. Edwin was a big fan of OU Football, the Atlanta Braves, the Dallas Cowboys and the Thunder. He was an avid Bass fisherman and boater. Survivors include: his wife, Anita, of the home; his sons, William Troy Smith and James Trent Smith both of Oklahoma City; his mother-in-law, Marquetia Simpson; his nieces, Cheyenne Courtney, and Hailey Simpson; his nephew, Chance Rainbolt and his great nieces, Alea and Ava Mattison, Raelynn Stanton and Micky Stanton. He is also survived by his Lakeview Family, Gary & Marcella Griffin, Revina Teague, "Foot" Melvin Kaulaity, Shana Pickup and Shelby Webster. He is preceded in death by his parents.
