Edith Louise Nester

Edith Louise Nester, of Eufaula, Oklahoma was born on September 26, 1943 at Henryetta, Oklahoma to her loving parents, Buddy Lee Free and Mildred Maude (Blatchford) Free. Edith entered into eternity on August 31, 2011 at Muskogee, Oklahoma at the age of 67. In May of 1961, Edith graduated from Hanna High School. On May 17, 1961, Edith married her soul mate, Troy “Sonnie” Nester in Eufaula, Oklahoma. Over the course of the last 50 years together, they became the loving parents, and the loving grandparents of nine beautiful grandchildren, and the loving great grandparents of five beautiful great grandchildren. Edith spent many years working as a seamstress in the clothing industry, and as a healthcare provider, but most importantly, she spent her life as a loving and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Edith was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hanna, Oklahoma. Edith is survived by her husband, Troy “Sonnie” Nester; her children, Troy “Sonnie” and Jeanna Nester, of Hanna, OK; Tracy and Suzanne Nester, of Spiro, OK; Paula and Bruce Freeman, of Eufaula, OK; and Travis and Sheila Nester, of Owasso, OK; her grandchildren, Jennifer Nester and Daniel Burns and their children, Dakota and Katelynn, of Hanna, OK; Melissa and Jessie Purdhom and their children Bailey and Lexi of Eufaula, OK; Samantha Nester and her son, Stanton, of Hanna, OK; Samuel Nester, of Spiro, OK; Denver Freeman and Will Freeman, both of Eufaula, OK; and Nicholas Nester; Jackson Nester; and Olivia Nester, all of Owasso, OK. Edith is also survived by one brother, Ray and wife Brenda Free, of Hanna, OK; two sisters, Nadine and husband, Dewayne Kennedy, of Henryetta, OK; Linda Martin, of Sapulpa, OK; one sister in-law, Donna Free, of Dewar, Ok; one brother in-law, J.B. Hamilton; of Eufaula, OK; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Edith is preceded in death by her parents, Bub and Mildred Free; one brother, Charles Free; and three brother in-laws, Harold Martin, Winford Hamilton, and Windel Hamilton.
