Douglas Allen Mcdonald

Douglas Allen McDonald, 68, of Checotah, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the St. Francis Hospital of Muskogee. Doug was born on September 7, 1955, in West Helena, Arkansas, the son of George Junior and Anna Josephine (Pryor) McDonald. He graduated from Eufaula High School. On July 23, 1982, Doug married Cindy Lou Hoggatt in Checotah. They were happily married for forty-two years. Doug worked as a mechanic for thirty-five years. He loved working on race cars, going on road trips, fishing and hunting. His favorite past time was spending time with his kids and grandkids.

Survivors include his wife Cindy, of the home; son, Justin McDonald and wife Brooke of Checotah; daughters, Sara Jones and husband Matt of Warner, Christina Jackson of Sardis and Cheryl Francis of Sallisaw; brothers, Tubby McDonald and wife Julie of Eufaula and Tim McDonald and wife Robin of Broken Bow; sisters, Sandy McDonald-Hughart of Tuttle and Sheila Verhoef and husband Billy of Calvin, Louisiana; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, George Junior McDonald and mother Anna Josephine Barnes.
