Dorothy Kathryn Stokes, 95, of Eufaula, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021, at her home. Dorothy was born on December 10, 1925, in Wanette, Oklahoma, the daughter of Frank Harmon and Lillian Mae (Stover) Shumacher. She graduated from high school. On February 24, 1946, Dorothy married Kenneth Eugene Stokes in McAlester. On September 1, 1967, she received LPN Training at Saint Mary's Hospital. Dorothy worked as an LPN and became the Director of Nursing. She also taught CNA classes which was a highlight of her nursing career. She was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church. Survivors include: her sons, David Stokes and wife Peggy of Eufaula and Tim Stokes and wife Beverly of Checotah; her daughter, Rosemary Kloeckler and husband Jim of Stillwater; 16 grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenneth Eugene Stokes, April 6, 1963, and a son, Kenneth R. Stokes.
