Donald Ray Howell

Donald Ray Howell, 70, of Checotah, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021, in Durant. Donnie was born on October 6, 1950, in Checotah, Oklahoma, the son of Willie Lee "Bud" and Jeanetta Mae (Bear) Howell. He graduated from Eufaula High School. Donnie worked raising cattle and farming. He enjoyed riding into town to talk with people. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include: his mother, Jeanetta Anderson of Checotah; his brother, Jimmy Howell of Charlotte, North Carolina, his nephews, Cody Howell, Richard Nichols of Claremore, Oklahoma and James Howell of Charlotte, North Carolina; his nieces, Leah Hudgins of Bellmont, North Carolina, Jennifer Widner of Bellmont, North Carolina and Amver Smith of Charlotte, North Carolina. He is preceded in death by his father, Willie "Bud" Howell and a brother, Larry Joe Howell.
