Donald Gerrel Shaver

Donald Gerrel Shaver, 74, of Eufaula, passed away Monday, July 23, 2012, at the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. Donald was born on February 26, 1938, in Eufaula, Oklahoma the son of Ben Moses and Edna Mae (Shirley) Shaver. He was raised in the bottom east of Eufaula. Donald graduated from Eufaula High School with the Class of 1957. On October 23, 1959, Donald married Bonnie Lorean French. From 1959-1965, Donald worked at the Ford Motor Company. He later worked for Oklahoma Natural Gas for twenty-seven years from 1966 to 1993. Donald was always working on something. He enjoyed his tractor, raising tomatoes, and hunting and fishing. He loved anything that had to do with the outdoors. He was loved and admired by his entire family. Survivors include: his wife, Bonnie, of the home; his son, Jeff Shaver of Statesboro, Georgia; his daughter, Theresa Andrews and husband James of Eufaula; his grandchildren, Michael Andrews, Christopher Andrews and wife Kristen, and Matthew Andrews; two great grandchildren, Chloe and Gracie; a host of nieces and nephews and two special friends Richard Grider and Leon French. Donald is preceded in death by a son, Michael Gerrel Shaver in 1980, his parents Ben & Edna Shaver, 4 brothers, Dale, Dee, Dennis and Wayne Shaver and 2 sisters, Mamie Garrett and Sherry Thomas.
