Dolores Deane Kucish

May 24, 1936 — August 4, 2019

Dolores Deane Kucish, 83, of Eufaula, passed away peacefully in her home August 4th, 2019. Dolores was born on May 24th, 1936 in McAlester Hospital, McAlester Oklahoma, the daughter of Jewel A. Brewer and Katie N. Jacobs. She graduated McAlester High School in 1954. Dolores married Staff Sergeant USMC, William Kucish of Core, West Virginia. Dolores worked for the Bank of McAlester. After marriage, she and her husband Bill moved to Oklahoma City, where they opened a glass business in Bethany, Oklahoma. Dolores returned to Eufaula in 1966 along with her two sons, Frank and Johnny. Her working career included the Carris Insurance Agency in McAlester, Chevrolet Dealership, The Indian Journal, Arrowhead Lodge, Fountainhead Lodge, Park Inn International in Sherman Texas, Blue Ribbon Downs in Sallisaw, Braums of Eufaula, Franks Glass and Mid Summer Thunder Motorcycle Rally. A strong work ethic kept her working into her late 70's. She was always active and engaged in the community, being a member of the Business and Professional Womans Association, the Band Boosters and always willing to lend a hand. She was a loving and devoted parent to her two boys following them to little league baseball, band, junior high football, basketball, High School football, baseball, plays and concerts. She frequently expressed great pride in her boys. She was also a devoted daughter, assisting her mother when her father became terminally ill then taking care of her mother until the day of her passing. Her compassion for animals was clearly evidence by the large amounts of cat and dog food she would purchase. At work or home no stray that crossed her path went hungry or without shelter. She was an avid NFL fan watching most every game on TV. She loved watching Thunder Basketball and even attended a game when she was in her 80's. She enjoyed being outside tending to her plants, flowers and yard and making sure the humming birds were fed. Although not a regular church attendee, she had strong Christian values, enjoyed reading her Bible and was a member of the Church of Christ. Her circle of friends saw no race, color or religion. Survivors include: her brother William (Bill) Brewer and wife Lou of Manchester, TN; her son, Frank Kucish of Eufaula; son, Johnny Kucish and wife, Kim of Laingsburg, MI; her grandchildren: Jeremy Kucish and wife, Charlene, Zachary Kucish and wife, Sloan; Samantha Hill and husband, Reggie; and her great grandchildren: Emma Kucish, Sevyn Hill, Remi Hill, Jett Hill, Kaine Hill, Landon Kucish, and Ryan Kucish. She is preceded in death by her parents Jewel and Katie and sisters: Betty Williams and Sue McEuen.
