Dennis Edward Rankin

Dennis Edward Rankin, 57, of Eufaula passed away Monday, July 23, 2012, in Eufaula. He was born on June 26, 1955, in Lynwood, California, the son of J.B. and Susie Lee (Tatum) Rankin. Dennis graduated from Whittier Union High School District in Whittier, California. He enlisted in the United States Army and was rewarded the Good Conduct Medal, a Sharpshooter (rifle) Award and an Expert (hand grenade) Award. He was honorably discharged twenty years later. Dennis then worked in a steel mill for fifteen years. On June 20, 2005, Dennis married Iris Rebecca Hazelwood in McAlester. Survivors include: his wife, Iris, of the home; his mother, Susie Rankin; his sons, Kevin Richardson Rankin of Scottsboro, Alabama, Timothy Rankin of Pennsylvania and Zachariah Rankin of Oklahoma City; his step daughters, Anna Stassin and Davina Morris; his sister, Beverly Neal of Checotah and three grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, J.B. Rankin.
