Delia Faye Vail, 93, of Canadian, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the Eufaula Manor Nursing Home. Delia was born on August 30, 1927, in Bells, Texas, the daughter of William Elmer and Viney Lee (Pemberton) Gray. She attended Haywood Schools and later attended the Wetumka-Vo Tech in Institutional Cooking. On March 26, 1947, Delia married Colman Vail. They were happily married for fifty-two years when Colman preceded her in death on June 6, 1999. Delia worked as a cook for the Eufaula Manor Nursing Home for twenty-six years and the Canadian Schools for three years. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking and watching game shows. Delia was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Canadian. Survivors include: her son, Glen Vail of Hitchita; daughters, Phyllis Hailey and husband Robert of Canadian, Joann Cable of Blanco, Faye Taylor and husband Mike of Glenpool and Denise Sinclair and husband Gary of Longtown; brother, Ronald Gray and wife Sue of Eufaula; eight grandchildren, Scott Voils, Bobby Priest, Anna Pestridge, Edward Vail, Casey Vail, Jason Schultz, Alana Taylor and Shane Taylor; fifteen great grandchildren, Maria, Lane, Dakota, Saidee, Brent, Dillon, Connor, Dakota, Montana, Colman, Charles, Quataugh (Faye), Toshiko, Kyleigh and Jaycee; four great great grandchildren, Layla, Rifle, Declan and Eli. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Colman; sisters: Lela Mae Beshears, Jewel Helms, Linda Davis, and one infant sister; two grandchildren: Charyl Schultz and Ashley Taylor; and one daughter in-law, Cindy Vail.
