Delcene Burns, 86, passed away Thursday, May 5th, 2022, at her home in Checotah, Ok. She was born on January 1, 1936, to Edmon and Vera (Cude) Johnson in Shady Grove, OK. Delcene graduated from Wainwright High School in 1953. She married Glenn Burns on August 18,1958, and the two were married for forty-one years. She was the secretary of the Lighthouse Christian Center. Delcene worked as the bookkeeper at Burns Lakeshore Shops. She was very clerical and enjoyed shopping. Delcene is survived by her son; Bryon Burns and wife Bonnie of Eufaula, OK, brothers; Thomas Johnson and wife Margaret of Bartlesville, OK, Sonny Johnson and wife Louise of Muskogee, OK, Carl Johnson and wife Judy of Muskogee, OK, Jim Johnson and wife Jane of Eufaula, OK, sister; Imaree Neumeyer of Skiatook, OK, grandchildren; Tristan Kimzey, Ashton Kimzey, Emilie Kimzey, Glenn Burns and Savannah Burns. She is preceded in death by her husband Glenn Burns, parents; Ed and Vera Johnson, brother; Boyd Lee Johnson, sisters; Ellawee Every, Mary Lou Farnum and Alice Liston.
