Daniel Lee Franklin

Daniel Lee Franklin, 71, of Eufaula, Oklahoma, passed away on June 10, 2021. He was born on September 25, 1949, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, the son of William Joseph and Francis Marie (Workman) Franklin. Daniel graduated from Covina High School in Covina, California. He was drafted and reluctantly joined the Army on July 1, 1971, where he became a medic and an orthopedic tech serving in the Vietnam War. He became very proud of his military service. Daniel was honorably discharged on May 8, 1979. On April 3, 2013, Daniel married Penny Lea Powers. He took many classes and courses on outboard boat motors and was considered one of the best boat mechanics on Lake Eufaula. Daniel enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his goats and chickens - especially Nugget, who spent his time on his shoulder. He loved shooting his guns, collecting coins and riding his Harley. Survivors include: his wife, Penny Franklin; daughters, Kimberly Copeland, of Hawaii, Sheri Mattern of McAlester, Elizabeth McDaniel of McAlester, Jordan Franklin of Oklahoma City, Angie Denny and husband Jack of Hoyt; brother, Jeffery Franklin of West Hill, CA; Sisters, Sandra Beuer and husband Greg of Paso Robles, CA and Cynthia Rodriguez of San Dimas, CA; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and a son, Jeffery Lee Franklin.
