Dan Harris

Dan Harris, 73, of Eufaula, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, Wednesday, July 31, 2019. Dan was born January 10, 1946, in rural Pittsburg County to E.C. and Pearl (Morgan) Harris. He attended Eufaula Public Schools and graduated in 1964. On July 3, 1965, Dan married Linda Faye Jones in Checotah. He then earned an Associates Degree from Connors State College in 1966. In 2009, Dan retired from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation after 29 years of employment. Survivors include: his wife, Linda, of the home; two daughters, Robin Montgomery and husband Calvin and Angela Charlton and husband Daryl, all of Eufaula, four grandchildren, Caleigh and Sara Montgomery and Abby and Ethan Charlton, and one great-grandson, Westyn Ford. Dan is also survived by three sisters, Mary Smith and husband, Jerry, of McAlester, Linda Mansur and husband, Lynn, of Tulsa, Judy Harris of Muskogee, one brother, Charles Harris of Eufaula, and a host of nieces and nephews that love him. Dan is preceded in death by his parents, E.C. and Pearl Harris, one sister, Thelma Watkins, three brothers, Cleo Harris, Joe Harris and Darrell Harris. Dan was a member of the Eufaula Church of Christ. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. The two most important things in his life were church and family.
