C.M. Bert Bertone

July 12, 1930 — February 25, 2013

Bert was born on July 12, 1930, in Jersey City, New Jersey, the son of Anthony Dominic and Delora (Silvestri) Bertone. He served in the National Guard. Bert graduated from Seton Hall University and received his Ph. D. from Los Angeles University. He worked for 35 years as a research psychologist, manager, senior social scientist and training specialist for a number of aerospace companies including the Rand Corporation, Federal Aviation Agency, Sikorsky Aircraft and others. He conducted training programs for Native American tribes across the country and later worked with Choctaw Nation Indian Health Services. Bert published over 50 professional articles, a nonfiction book entitled Soviet Psychology, and two novels. He was invited to speak at the XVIII International Conference of Psychology in Moscow, Russia. Later he taught at Northeastern State University and Connors State College. Bert married Diane Kay Frame on May 14, 1999, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He shared his love of traveling with his wife. Bert is survived by his wife, Diane, of Farmington, Arkansas, formerly of Eufaula; his daughters, Kathleen Kellogg and husband Len of Colorado, Victoria Caltabiano and husband David of Arizona, Jennifer Lee and husband David of Connecticut, and Amanda Norman and husband Shawn of Oklahoma City; a son, Christopher Bertone of Arizona; step-children, Josh Matthews and wife Marla of Fayetteville, Rachael Catlett and husband Owen of Moore,and Brooklin Green of North Carolina; a brother Andrew Bertone of New Jersey; twelve grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents.
