Clarence "C.J." Shatswell

C.J. was born on January 9, 1945 in Fame, Oklahoma to George Washington and Minnie Ann (Boen) Shatswell. He graduated from Eufaula High School in 1963. C.J. lived in Quinton, Oklahoma until moving to Eufaula in 1989. On November 11, 1989, he married Betty Jean Johnson. C.J. worked for the Army Corp. of Engineers for thirty years, before retiring in 1995. He worked for Kats from 1996-2012. C.J. was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Eufaula, Oklahoma. Survivors include: his wife, Betty Shatswell, of the home; five daughters, Melanie Ann Pegg and husband, Mike, of Perkins, OK; Deanna Lynn Shatswell, of Stillwater, OK; Dawn Marie Kelmer and husband, Tim, of Perry, OK; Regina Pauline Crouch and husband, Vince, of Chelsea, OK; and Teresa Renee Clayton and husband, Dennis of Eufaula, OK; two brothers, Glen Shatswell and wife, Donna, of Eufaula, OK; and Bill Shatswell, of Enterprise, OK; eleven grandchildren; and one great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Minnie Shatswell; five brothers: Delbert, Millard, Hershell, J.C., and Odell Shatswell; and two sisters: Lois Freeman; and Joyce Hammett.
