Christene Fowler

December 28, 1932 — February 6, 2014

Mary Christene Fowler, 81, of Muskogee, passed away Thursday, February 06, 2014 at the Eastar Hospital in Muskogee. Christene was born on December 28, 1932, in Stidham, Oklahoma the daughter of William Thomas and Bessie Lee (Adams) Flud. She graduated from Stidham High School. On November 1, 1952, Christene married John William "Bud" Fowler in Hammond, Indiana. From 1975-1981 Christene worked at the Superior Mattress Factory. From 1981-2005, Christene worked as a secretary for her son. She loved to bake, cook and spend time with her grandchildren. Christene was a member of the Ash Street Baptist Church. Survivors include: her husband, John, of the home; her sons, Clinton Fowler and wife Tura of Muskogee and Johnny Fowler Jr. and wife Julie of Wainwright; her daughters Judy Burns and husband Steve of Mellette and Karen Fry and husband Benny of Muskogee; her sisters, Lorene Porgue of Indiana, Sara Carver of Arkansas, Katie Newton of Stidham and Faye Daniels of Muskogee; eleven grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Darrell Fowler in 2001 and twelve brothers and sisters.
