Chester Lee Nixon, 84, of Eufaula passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019, in Norman, Oklahoma. Chester was born on March 2, 1935, in Stidham, Oklahoma, the son of Newell Baine and Bertha Mae (Decamp) Nixon. Chester enlisted in the United States Army May 26, 1954. He served as an Army Specialist Third Class during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on March 19, 1956. On August 4, 1958, Chester married Naoma Carol Alcorn in Clovis, California. They were happily married for fifty-two years. Chester started a garbage business in rural Edmond, Oklahoma in the early 70's that allowed him to provide for his family. He was also known for his ability to weld, fix cars and was a jack of all trades. Survivors include: his sons, Ronnie Nixon and wife Susan, of Edmond; Danny Nixon and wife Noel of Oklahoma City, and Randy Nixon and wife Kathy of Norman; one daughter, Tammy Nixon of Eufaula; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren, his brothers, Clinton Eugene Nixon, Richard Dwayne Nixon and Newell Junior Nixon; his sisters, Helen Maxine White, Barbara Fae Pickard and Ottie Mae Lynch. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Naoma Nixon, and his brothers, Thomas, Paul and Joe Carl Nixon.
