Charlotte Sue Lane, 83, of Yukon, passed away on December 14, 2020 in Oklahoma City. Charlotte was born on October 23, 1937 in Lenna, Oklahoma to John Elias and Susie Mae (Thornton) Helms. She attended Dixie Elementary School and graduated from Eufaula High School in 1955. On October 23 1976, Charlotte married Glenn Lindsey Lane in Eufaula, Oklahoma. They were happily married for twenty-six years before he preceded her in death on December 7, 2002. She worked as a social worker for the State of Oklahoma. Charlotte enjoyed a good cup of coffee and visiting with her sisters. She was a gifted storyteller and was considered the family historian for her accurate recollection of names, dates, and places. Charlotte’s favorite job was being ‘Grandma Char.’ She loved spending time with her granddaughters and would brag on them every chance she got. From concerts and recitals to games and graduations, Charlotte was ever present at important events for her girls. Charlotte was a member of the Church of Christ, most recently Soldier Creek Church of Christ. Survivors include: three grandchildren: Tahleah Curtis, Nicci Curtis, and Courtney Curtis; one great grandchild, Presley Curtis; and two sisters: Teresa Stafford, of Yukon; and Sondra Corns, of Eufaula. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Elias Helms and Susie Mae Thornton; husband, Glenn Lane; son, Mark Alan Curtis; brother, Dewey Helms; and sisters: Della Arbuckle, Zelma Fletcher, Opal Burdine, and Mary Nunn.
