Carol Jo Yandell

Carol Jo Yandell, 77, of Eufaula, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at her home. Carol was born on January 9, 1947 in Hanna, Oklahoma to Arthur William and Verdie May (Berry) Smith. She graduated from Eufaula High School in 1965. Carol attended Virgil's Beauty College. On May 29, 1971, she married Phillip Paul Yandell at the First Baptist Church in Eufaula. They were happily married for fifty-three years and raised three children together. Carol worked with her sister, Lil, at the beauty shop for many years. She also worked home health for fifteen years and then at Mark's Country Store for ten years. Her most important and favorite job was keeping her grandchildren. Carol loved to cook, travel, and eat cheetos and walnut ice cream. She was a member of the Stidham Baptist Church.

Survivors include: her husband, Phillip Yandell, of the home; son, Dane Yandell and wife Angie, of Stidham; daughters: Heather Lewis and husband Lance, of Eufaula; and Berry Yandell, of Eufaula; brother, Richard Smith, of Oklahoma City; sister, Lillian Hale, of Eufaula; eight grandchildren: Trett Yandell, Morgan Yandell, Garren Weatherton, Thadan Yandell, Tandon Yandell, Gracey Lewis, Miah Lewis, and Axel Lewis; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Verdie Smith; great grandson, Traveler Yandell; and siblings: Barbara Gould, Audrey Haskett, Ireland Smith, Robert Smith, and Eurvin Smith.
