Byron Dean Kennedy, 47, of Eufaula, passed away Monday, December 21, 2015 at his home. Byron was born, the youngest of six children, on September 20, 1968, in Fresno, California the son of Jerry Wayne and Janice Carol (Roberts) Kennedy. He graduated from Checotah High School in 1988. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies Degree from Oklahoma Baptist University. On October 25, 2003, Byron married Naomi Lynn Bruster in Eufaula. He worked at the North Fork Baptist Church as Minister of Pastoral Care and has served as Youth Pastor, Children"s Pastor & Assistant Pastor. He was a member of the Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief Mission and helped cook for the victims of Hurricane Katrina at Camp Gruber. Byron enjoyed traveling on mission trips with the church. Byron also worked for the Eufaula and Checotah Public Schools as a bus driver for band and field trips. His favorite pastime was watching movies with his kids and fishing. Survivors include: his wife, Naomi, of the home; his children, Hannah Jo and Levi Wayne of the home; his father, Jerry Wayne Kennedy and wife Freida of Fresno, California; his brothers, Rodney Kennedy and wife Ronda of Hanford, California and Christopher Kennedy and wife Marsha of Fort Worth, Texas; his sisters, Darla Johnson and husband Darrell of Midwest City, Darinda Fitzgerald and husband Kevin of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Daretta VanHooshier and husband Wes of Little Rock, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his mother, Janice on March 13, 2010.
