(Butch) Henry Griffin, 74, passed away on February 25, 2019 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jerry was born on January 30, 1945 in Checotah, Oklahoma to Henry and Pauline (Myers) Griffin. Butch was the youngest of eight children. He attended Onapa and Checotah Public Schools. Jerry graduated from Grass Valley High School in California in 1963. He served four years in the United States Navy. On April 3, 1966, Jerry married Marilyn Schoening in San Diego, CA. They were happily married for fifty-two years. He worked as a Psychiatric Technician and then a Hospital Peace Officer at the Atascadero State Hospital in California for thirty-three years, before retiring in 2000. Jerry loved fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends. He really enjoyed staying in a cabin in Yosemite, California with his friends and family. Jerry was a member of the Eufaula VFW Post 8798. Survivors include: his wife, Marilyn Griffin, of the home; son, Tyson Griffin and wife, Kimberly, of Atascadero, CA; daughter, LeAnn Griffin-Rogers, of the home; brother, Bill Griffin, of Checotah, OK; sisters: Betty Allen, of Eufaula, OK; Bernice Kirby of Citrus Heights, CA; and Doris Walker and husband, Dean, of Brush Hill, OK; three grandchildren: Jon Rogers, Rebecca Griffin, and Brittany Madala; and two great grandchildren: Cameryn Griffin-Quick and Kora Madala; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Pauline Griffin; and siblings: Imogene Griffin, Donald Griffin, and Shirley Martinez. All who knew Butch are welcome to attend services.
