Burner Gene Work

Gene was born on January 14, 1927 in Quinton, Oklahoma to Sam and Mae (Adkins) Work. He grew up at Cross Lane and graduated from Quinton High School in 1944. Gene attended Oklahoma State University for a year. He owned and operated a flower shop in Quinton. Gene lived in Tulsa for fifty years, working as a tax preparer, before retiring. He moved back to Quinton two years ago. Survivors include: a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Mae (Adkins) Work; one brother, Jimmy Work; and three sisters: Margie Cagle, Edith Smith, and Dortha Bland.
