Brandon Jon Basden, 35, of Tulsa formerly of Crowder, passed away Friday, November 18, 2011 at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Brandon was born on August 20, 1976, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, the son of Johnnie Edward and Brenda Kay (Work) Basden. He graduated from Crowder High School in 1994 and attended Eastern Oklahoma State College from 1994-1996. Brandon received his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from East Central University in 1998. Brandon worked as a youth minister at the Oak Ridge Baptist Church and at the Kiowa Baptist Church. On July 7, 2007, Brandon married Jamie Leeper in Wagoner. He and Jamie lived in Tulsa where he worked as a triage specialist for the Tulsa Behavioral Health Center for several years. He was a huge OU fan who loved Super Mario Bros and was an avid Superman lover. Brandon was a member of the Church at Battle Creek. Survivors include: his wife, Jamie, of the home; his daughter, Drew Taylor Basden of Louisville, Kentucky; his son, Bradford James Basden of the home; his parents, John and Brenda Basden of Crowder; his sister, Jennifer Annette Dearman and husband Chris of Wagoner, his nephews, Drayson, Kelton, and Holden Dearman of Wagoner and his paternal grandmother, Ida Basden of Quinton. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Locie Brasher and Frank Work and his paternal grandfather, Frank Basden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Ministry at the Church of Battle Creek, 3025 North Aspen Ave., Broken Arrow, OK 74012 for their children’s summer camp program.
