Bonita (Marshall) Abernathy

Bonita (Marshall) Abernathy, 66, passed away on Friday, April 14th, 2023, in Oklahoma City, OK. Bonita was born on December 16th, 1956, in Eufaula, OK, to Benjamin and Henryetta (Beaver) Marshall. In 1975, she graduated from Eufaula High School. Bonita went on to attend Connors State College and The University of Oklahoma. On October 21, 1989, she married Ronald L. Abernathy in Muskogee, OK, and the two were happily married for thirty-three years. Bonita worked at JC Penney's for over twenty years. She enjoyed taking care of her grandson, watching sports, especially the Oklahoma Sooners.

Bonita is survived by her husband, Ron Abernathy of the home; daughter, Sally T. Abernathy and fiance Dylan Hackney of Yukon, OK; brothers, Tony Marshall and wife Lorraine of Owyhee, NV, and Jerry Francis of Bixby, OK; sisters, Hannah Francis of Tulsa, OK, and Edna Natseway of Tulsa, OK; grandson, Easton Osceola Abernathy and also numerous nieces and nephews that she loved very much. She is preceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Henryetta Marshall; son, Cepanuce Wayne Abernathy; sisters, Sandra Marshall Wilson, and Marion Peyketewa; and brothers, Joe Francis, Mike Francis and Reno Francis.
