Billye Ruth Frazier

Billye Ruth Frazier, 79, of Eufaula passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at the Muskogee Community Hospital. Billye was born on February 23, 1932, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma the daughter of William and Florence (Epler) Booton. She graduated from Central High School and received her Bachelor’s degree from Southwestern Community College. Billye then received her Master’s degree in Education from Oklahoma City University. She owned and operated Billye’s Flowers in Oklahoma City from 1953-1984. On April 9, 1972, Billye married Darrell R. Frazier in Oklahoma City. Billye worked as a social worker for ten years. She later became a department head at Connors State College. Survivors include: her husband, Darrell, of the home; her sons, Tony Frazier of Tulsa and Steve Frazier and wife Patty of Lexington; her daughter, Lynetta Burchett and husband Bob of Muskogee; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Billye is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Darrell Wayne, a brother, Merle and a granddaughter, Cheyenne. Funeral services were held 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 8, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Mike Brannon officiating. Pallbearers were Shane Burchett, Josh Robinett, Frankie Jordan, Ross Frazier, Darren Frazier and Chad Frazier. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Burchett and Bill Smith. Burial followed at 2:30 at the Chapel Hill Cemetery in Oklahoma City with Reverend Dwight Burchett officiating. Services were under the direction of Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eufaula First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
