Billy Floyd "Sonny" Rice, Jr.

Billy Floyd "Sonny" Rice, Jr., 66, of Checotah, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, August 6, 2021, at the St. Francis Hospital of Muskogee. Sonny was born on September 1, 1954, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, the son of Billy Floyd and Betty Lee (Rogers) Rice. He attended school in both California and Texas. In 1974, Sonny married Sherry Allen in Denton, Texas. They were married for twenty-eight years. Sonny worked as a truck driver for forty-three years as an owner/operator. He loved to fish with his grandson. He also loved Harley Davidson motorcycles. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include: his son, Trey Rice of Sanger, TX; his sisters, Kathy Ballinger and husband David of Riverside, CA and Kelly Fuller and husband Rodney of Sanger, TX; two grandchildren, William and Lucy; niece, Lisa; and nephews, Brian, Matt and Clay. He is preceded in death by his parents.
