Billie was born on April 3, 1930 in Eufaula, Oklahoma to Fred Linzie and Millicent Rebecca (James) Kay. She was a 1952 graduate of Oklahoma State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics Education. Upon graduation, Billie worked as a Home Demonstrations Agent for Pioneer Natural Gas Company in Hutchison, KS. She married Jess Martin Adams, Jr. of Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 6, 1952 in Eufaula, Oklahoma. Alongside her husband, Billie Fay actively volunteered in many capacities for the Boy Scouts of America, from den mother to camp cook, influencing the lives of many young boys. She taught at the Amarillo State Center for Human Development prior to returning to college to obtain her teaching certification at Texas Tech University. She taught Vocational Home Economics in the Amarillo Independent School District for twenty-two years. Billie was a member of Paramount Baptist Church in Amarillo where she taught Sunday School in the children"s department and also served as the Bereavement Chairman for many years. She was a long time member of the AAUW (Amarillo Association of University of Women), serving in numerous leadership roles. Her greatest joy was the love she had for her family and making a warm and inviting home for everyone who came to visit. Billie was a gracious host and dear friend to many but her life"s passion was to share the love and message of Jesus with anyone she met. Survivors include: two sons: David Adams and wife, Jerri, of Lubbock, TX; James Adams and wife, Delores, of Amarillo, TX; one daughter, Becky Smith and husband, Mike, of Shelbyville, TN; sister, Katherine Price, of McAlester, OK; one nephew, Tom Price; ten grandchildren: Lora and Ricardo Oliveira, Bart Smith, Gemma Harris, Calli and Dylan Christenson, Lindsey and Riley Dearing, Carolyn and Jordan Sheffler, Rachel and Kenneth Miller, Marit Adams, and Ashley Adams; and ten great grandchildren: Emma, Dakota, Savannah, Crew, Sam, Layla, Camp, Seth, Presley, and baby boy Dearing. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Millicent Kay; and husband, Jess M. Adams, Jr.
