Billy Gene Nixon, 78, of Eufaula, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2020, at the East Gate Nursing Home in Muskogee. Bill was born on June 19, 1941, in Stidham, Oklahoma the son of Norman C. Nixon and Gladys Nadine Haley. He graduated from Stidham Public Schools. He then received his Associates Degree in Science in Law Enforcement. He served as deputy sheriff in McIntosh County for several years. On November 14, 1959, Bill enlisted in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged on January 31, 1965. Bill worked as a bus driver for Stidham Schools. He also worked as a welder and truck driver. Bill was the caretaker for ten years of the Moore Cemetery. Survivors include: his daughters, Marie Burns and husband Jerry, of Eufaula, Crystal Crawford and husband Lapinion of Eufaula, Lisa Ann Deemes of OH; Kelly Nixon of OH and Shawn Kelly of MS; a son, Pepe Graves and wife Buffy of Bristow, OK; his brothers, Steve Nixon of Ballinger, TX, Marshall Nixon of Checotah, and Tracey Haley of Stidham; his sisters, Norma Reed of Lenna and Sonya Davis of Eufaula; his grandchildren, Gage, Terrell, Talia, Tyler, Tia, Kristen, Cody, Casey, William, Wesley, Landus, Christopher, Samantha, Weston, Colt, Keegan. He is preceded in death by his parents and a son, James Nixon.
