Bettye Marie Barnard

Bettye was born on June 4, 1939 in Kilgore, Texas. On September 28, 1957, Bettye married her lifetime sweetheart, George Roger (Butch) Barnard. Although she worked various jobs throughout the years, she chose motherhood and homemaker as her career, enriching the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will always be remembered by her family as being strong and faith- filled. Bettye enjoyed playing the piano, which she taught herself. She also loved oil painting and crocheting. Bettye loved playing games, especially 42 and Bridge. She was a people person and loved being the center of attention and life of the party. She is survived by her daughters, Paula Galbraith and husband Randal of Eufaula, Connie Weyenberg of Burleson, TX; son, Chris Barnard and wife Connie Sue of Melrose, NM; 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren with one on the way, 3 nieces, 5 nephews, and a host of friends in TX, OK, and NM. Most notably her classmates from St. Mary's Academy, who, with her strong Catholic Faith, carried her through difficult times. She is preceded in death by her husband, Butch, of 58 years, her precious Mammy who raised her, in- law parents, LH and Mary Alice Barnard, nephew Lawson Freeman, infant grandson, and great granddaughter.
