Betty Lee Van Allen

May 7, 1930 — February 25, 2016

Betty was born on May 7, 1930 in Indianola, Oklahoma to Lindsay Luther and Myrtle Marie (Mosley) Whitfield. She attended school at Indianola. On January 26, 1948, Betty married Otto Francis Van Allen, who preceded her in death in 1978. She worked as a seamstress for over sixty years. Betty enjoyed reading, gardening, and fishing. She was a member of the Lighthouse Christian Center. Betty especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and her church. Survivors include: her son, Jerry Van Allen, of Muskogee, OK; daughters: Karen Waldrop and husband, Ray, of Longtown, OK; Barbara Van Allen, of Edmond, OK; brothers: Earl Whitfield and wife, Kathy, of Casa Grande, AZ; Troy Whitfield and wife, Leota, of Gainesville, FL; sisters: Jean McHaney and husband, Alex, of Casa Grande, AZ; Gwenda Bain and husband, Phil, of Casa Grande, AZ; Linda Rodriguez and husband, Israel, of Farmington, NM; two grandchildren: Ginger Behnke and husband, Fred; Tera Shows and husband, Brian; and four great grandchildren: Amelia, Tanna, Miranda, and Lane. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, and two brothers: Bobby Whitfield and David Whitfield.
