Betty Jane Brown

Betty Jane Shives Brown, 96, of Eufaula, passed away on February 3, 2021 at the Eufaula Manor Nursing Home. Betty was born on February 2, 1925 to Elizabeth Martin and Theodore Shives in Fulton County, Pennsylvania. She attended and graduated with honors from Springfield High School. Betty married H.B. "Brownie" Brown on February 17, 1945 and raised two children together. They were happily married and she was a devoted wife for over fifty-six years, before he preceded her in death in 2002. They moved to Oklahoma in 1971 and built their home there in 1976. Betty enjoyed various activities and hobbies with family. She was an accomplished seamstress and had her own upholstery business for many years. Survivors include her two children" H. James Brown and wife, Cindy; and Patty L. Fairchild, both of Eufaula, OK; three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, brother, Al Shives; and three sisters: Iris Evans, Mabel Gordon, and Judy Davison. She is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Elizabeth Shives; brothers: William, Ted, Joe, and Harold; sister, Wanda Treboni; husband, H.B. Brown, and one grandson, Kristopher Manhollan.
